I think i would have stopped to help. But not many people know what to do. Always wanted to do a First Aid course. Cos the only things i can remember was what i was taught in cubs/scouts. i had my First Aid badge don't you know

There waqs no need to mention the money side of things, and TBH I feel that you shouldnt be giving the 8 hours overtime due to the fact that anyone else not in emergency services employment wouldnt get anything except a well done. I feel you should refuse the money on moral principle.

At the end of the day i think everyone is just slating you because your a copper and most people hate them.I for one would be glad that even though if there not on duty they are able to handle certain situations that most people would freak over.

I would do the same though.

The police don't need responces to give them a bad name they do this by themselves.

well no one else by the sound of things were doing anything, and in any case dont u think the people's lives he saved would want him to get paid because he saved their lives and are grateful for his intervention

i feel that is the biggest crock of shit......would you turn down that money coz you thought people would think bad of you if you took it?? I know i wouldn't..... too many people get on their high horses around this place telling people what to do when they have no right.

Well done RA you should be well pleased for yourself pity others don't think the same

Why do people have it in for the cops really?? Fair enough they seem to be out to get some times but the majority are really decent blokes just looking to earn a living and do what they love

At the end of the day Romford you started all this police shit by saying about the overtime in your first post.

The police are trained what to say and what not to say in certain situations are they not? This was a time not to say somthing.

Good on you for being a man and saving those people though.I personally think that it makes now difference that you are a copper.I think that you would have done the same thing if you were not as people are born like that and not trained to be brave.

I congratulated the man, I will say it again though for those who cannot read. Well done for actually doing something, I just feel the 8 hours over time isn't justified because he wasnt actually at work. Also I think the money aspect of it puts a whole cloud over the actual act.

And I personally would do everything I could in the same situation, granted I wouldnt have the training and such like but I would definatly be one of those tyring to help rather than driving past.
