Who's to say WIN 9 / 10 will be any different to 8 in terms of OS?

I think it's here to stay and we have to get used to it.

It's not difficult to use, some people just can't embrace change.

Its not about embracing changes its about the many aspects of UI design that are just flawed and poorly designed for the desktop.

Really - just goes to show how stats can show anything as Windows 8 is only contributing a % or two to most places at the moment that produce public data

I saw an online review of Windows 8 (think it might have been Click on BBC News) and the traditional Start menu is there, you just have to hide the new UI?!

It's not.

May be it is in tablet version for those apps which don't have the new UI compatibility.

It's not.

You can get a normal desktop by clicking the desktop tile, the start menu is gone.

For anyone remotely interested and all this for £517 exc VAT which I think is pretty good considering it includes a 23" LED HDMI monitor for a 17p upgrade and an Office package for £125

I downgraded to Windows 7 because the parents get confused when the telephone rings so I thought Windows 8 might be bit of a shock coming from XP.

Dispatched

Oh and I got Nectar points, £620 worth. Noice.

And our "account manager" phoned dad from the famous American state of Delhi, giving us an additional 10% off for being good customers. Innit.

That is just the heading for that section so in other words an 8-in1 Media Card reader comes standard, instead of a floppy drive.

Bought direct from Dell. "For Small and Medium Business".

Had a random 10% off, no carriage, a further 10% off Vostro's over £349 and £120 off. The £120 off basically meant a free monitor.

So, being delivered by UPS. Coming from Poland and been in Transit for some time. 2 consignments. 1 monitor and 1 PC.

1 monitor just delivered. PC showing as still in Poland. Phone UPS, they say it won't arrive tomorrow and Dell have to raise the query.

Phone dell, Customer services shuts at 4.30pm. Sales can't help. Need to phone tomorrow at 9am.

WTF.
