There isn't always a direct relation between age and price.

Anyway, this 1994 manual one looks good for £13k http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/3058398.htm

Guess it's personal preference but I couldn't spend 18k on a car that old, I'd be looking at whatever the newest half decent cars are for that price

 | early 3.0 with pop up headlights, late has 3.2 tith covered lenses.

 DONT look at autos
DONT look at Targa's if you want a ridged good handling car (wont be bad but not as good as coupe).

So in short get a manual coupe - they are the more expensive ones

 | money no object and you actually had a 'dream garage' .... An NSX-R would 100% be part of it

Not a balls out powerfull car - more of a scalpal compared to a machete

 NA2 Honda NSX Type-R (2002 – 2005)

 Engine: 3.2 L DOHC
 Power: 280 HP @ 7300 rpm
 Torque: 304 Nm @ 5300 rpm
 0-100 km/h: 4,4 sec
 Top speed: 270 km/h
 Gearbox: 6-Speed MT
 Weight: 1270 kg

(NA2 is late version... NA1 is early with pop up lights)

 NA1

  NA2

so you agree 18k for a rare 1994 sports car is daft?

I think paying 25k or whatever for a brand new top of the line ford/vaux hatch these days is daft.

 | It's a supercar Graham. The Ferrari 280GTo or whatever it is is from the 1950's and costs £millions?! The Esprit S4s costs bout the same as an NSX because it's not a mass produced shopping trolley with badges on.

AK- Never new they made a pop up headlight Type r thought it was just the facelift.

Purple targe with Tan interior for me if a black facelift wasn't available.
