Do you even have to tell them that its a write off? Or is it up to the buyer too find out?

As the law goes, if i were to buy a write off and repair it, when i sell it on i MUST inform the new onwer, but then if they are to sell it on after that, they dont have to. Although Cat C will say on the logbook.

If you're a private seller you're not legally obliged to tell potential buyers about being written off but it's a bit of a shitty trick to pull to be honest. Traders MUST advise if a vehicle is recorded on HPI.

 | My mate bought this from a company directly after it was written off for cheap, he then sold it a week later making a profit. Didnt repair it in any way.

It was a mess though, airbags did deploy and there was a lot more damage than the seller is letting on.
