Tbh I've found the C a nice upgrade from the B, feels much more modern and more of a "proper car" if you know what I mean. Not an old cheap runabout. No offence to anyone
It's taken a couple of months for me to get the economy really dialled in, but 300 miles is a personal best - it seems to go up with every tank Not yet gotten below 30mpg though, unless you count the initial "look how awesome it is when I plant it" novelty

Don't believe everything you read - Punto has been 38mpg - 41mph, no matter how driven. Book is 47mpg.

Book MPG for mine is 36 according to Parkers.
31.6 isn't that far off Could get it a lot better but get the urge to floor it at the weekends a bit too frequently to get 36 out of it

What they like as an all round car?
Id have to agree, i prefer the 5dr over the 2dr myself, dont know why, just something about them, same as 1 series BMW, 5 door is nicer imo.
Ive driven a few of them, really nice to drive. Comfy, handle quite good for a Vaux.

All the cyclists that have appeared recently that have to be overtaken all the time haven't exactly helped fuel consumption

I did consider the corsa D 1.7 cdti but if you go on the corsa D website and see all the problems people are having with them has put me off one now.

Corsa C 1.8 SRi if you want a quick vauxhall, thats sporty and fuel economic,
My mates ones only got a decat, 4-2-1 and induction kit, his is runnin 158bhp which is quick in a corsa c yet when driven sensibly it seemed pretty decent on petrol
or a D Sri 1.6 Turbo! they too are quick, my mates only has pre cat and its 174bhp.... does spank petrol though! and whether you'd pick one up thats decent for 7k, I dunno
