Keep the Combo C and stop ploughing money into everyday cars. Cars cost money your current van is practical, economical, comfortable to drive (car like almost) and reliable transport just what you want for an everyday car why would you want rid of it?
The Bmw will cost more to run and you will worry about it. The van is hassle free motoring.
Spend the money on your project instead and keep that for enjoyment and for looking after etc.
That is what i would do I recently sold my combo and have regretted it as it was just so useful.

I say drive it all the time; over the summer i use my Beemer daily; 50mile round trip aswell as some long work runs. The only reason i take it off the road in the winter is because with no TC its an animal in the wet and ice.
I use to drive my 911 everyday; even through winter. I thought no point having it just to look at!

I wouldn't, I used my Zetec S daily and fair enough it's still a new car etc but it's hard to look after a car when you're putting that kind of mileage on it. It's almost impossible to keep clean, (I cleaned mine 3 times a week, polishing etc) and just generally kinda takes the fun out of driving it.
Now I've got a van it's so much better, I don't use it very often but when I do it's so much more fun. The van is care free driving, park it where I want and not worry about it, when I need to go to tip or whatever, pick an engine up etc, it's there and easy to use and put stuff in the back.
I think ianofbhills has the right idea.

Graham is 100% right.
I haven't used the Astra since the RR day but when I was using it for work it racked up mileage just sitting in traffic and you soon get fed up of the surroundings.
I'm itching to jump in it to drive now but with this weather I doubt it will do any more miles now until mid January
Just keep the van and fit some bling bling wheels to it.
