i do understand that but i'll be saving over 400 quid a month on finance repayments, 16 quid a month on gap insurance, money on tyres (95 quid each, last 6k miles average), tax, car insurance, petrol.
a lot of money that can go into my savings rather than a car that depreciates loads.
I think you're forgetting I used to have a brand new 320bhp STI, I know what costs are like!
We'll speak again in 6months once you're in your shitter

We're talking very marginal saving if a BMW goes wrong. Full of shit suggestions this thread.
You want cheap, think french, otherwise stick with what you got.

I think its not as good an idea as you think. I'd like to do it but it'd be horrid and miserable having a crappy car so I'm not going to do it. You would soon tire of it like brett says!

i get tired of having a new car tbh. hate the fact it's boring to drive.
got so used to the power it doesn't actually feel all that fast. and 200 miles to 50 litres of petrol does do your head in after a while
also want a car that i can just leave anywhere and not worry about someone smashing their door into it or scratching it.
i don't really care if the internet people think it's a shit car.

That was the plan with mine but then I was on the slippery slope of claying and waxing it and am now quick protective over it when it gets new dings

306/106 turbo diesel if you want to save money but by all the suggestions it just sounds as if you want another petrol hot hatch that you will probably mod. if you get the likes of a vts you will save money but not as much if you get a diesel, priorities at the end of the day and you need to get them sorted.

Last time I checked, you couldn't drive a house. Think about when you're out and about representin' in your old Fiesta. Won't matter what your house looks like if no bird wants to get into your shitbox motor

As suggested mk4 Astra diesel. Ours is great, its the 2lDTi version, in a year and a half its had 2 services, 2 tyres and an MOT.
Mk3 1.7 for £370

Theyve all got huge mileage on them though for your price range. Going from a fast petrol car to a pretty slow diesel you may struggle to keep it for any period of time though!

306 turbo diesel, i'd stretch the budget a tad and look for an hdi. I'm sure you be able to find one for 1.5k these days.
