Don't do it.
M3 > Clio is not going to be a good move.

I've driven one, Also driven a 172 cup and a 182 FF.
The trophy is much better on the corners, and nicer seats and colour
Can't see you liking it after a lovely fast german car though!

when i was looking at getting a new car i took out the 182 cup for a test drive and really wasnt sold on it. Just wasnt special enough for a hot hatch.
Ended up getting a Fabia Vrs and never regretted it!
But like whats been said before, M3 to Clio... you ll want to cry im sure!

I owned a 182 Cup for 12 months, it came with the optional Trophy Recarros. I stuck a set of springs on it and it was a weapon.
Athough on paper it was similar to my Cooper S to 60, the 'S' still feels like it gets there much faster.

i despise Honda's so wouldnt want one im afraid
306 is ancient, plus a mate had one and it was always broken.

I think the clio is a great choice for your requirements. Its a bargain for the level of equipment, performance and fun factor. Go for it but stick to the 182 FF with the cup packs rather then paying the extra for the trophy though.

Why not just keep the M3, it sounds like you've carried out or replaced just about everything that costs money so far.
Brakes/inspII, just had a front end respray etc etc.......I'd bet you could run it for another 25k now before it costs you any more serious cash!!
Get a warranty for it so you can sleep easy at nights!!
