I don't think they are boring probably the most exciting Vauxhall I've owned! As the chassis takes to the power very well. I done another road of the MLR Sprint Series in mine, didnt come last and it was absolutely soaking wet to ! Althougth I was 12 seconds slower than Simon Norris!

Theyy are hideously boring.

Its nothing to do with the chassis, it has plenty of grip. It just has no driver involvement whatsoever.

Dull as dishwater!

What you talking about?? What gives it the grip if its not the chassis ? becuase its certainly not the standard suspension set up!

What driver involvement do you need?

No abs No PAS ?

Theres very little sensation of speed, therres no steering feedback, no feedback from the rear, it was like playing gran turismo.

Hence why many people as well as myself sold them as they where so boring! Nothing wrong with the car, looked great comfy etc. Just never owned such a boring car!

Im sure if you swop suspension round you will improve it no end, but its still not going to give you preper feedback untill you bin the fly by wire stuff that makes it so uninvolving.

I was sure i thought red loked best till i owned one for a while, then i was convinced it was black. Now silver makes them look more subtle and modern...

Silvers best.

RCM fitted fly-by throttle to there impreza, becuase it was an improvement over the traditional cable system.. I better tell them that cars getting uninvolving then !

Electric power steering does loose feedback, but its nothing you cant get used - like with any car.

Did you only drive your astra to the shops and back when you had it ? The rear end stability when standard is shockingly bad !!

And as for comfy?? The recaros are the most unsupportive seat ever??!?!

I'm not trying to say the Astra is the best car out there, but I think it is understated it very quickly

What on earth has an imprezzas throttle system got to do with the Astra? My M3 has fly by wire throttle, but you cant tell it feels the same as my Z3m did which was cable.

I never said it was the worst car out there. I liked mine it was just dull.

I suggest you get out there and drive some different cars that are renowned for their handling. The Astra gsi is not famed for its handling and pretty much everyone bar you seems to agree they are dull and offer no fun. Driven a VXR? Soooooo uch better. The wheels feel connected to the steering wheel, it feels taught and agile.

your previous comment appeared to be against fly-by.... "untill you bin the fly by wire stuff that makes it so uninvolving."

The only vxr I havent driven is the VXR8 and VXR220, I'm not saying the mk4 astra is the best handling car, what vauxhall is a good handling car at the day, the astra is a shopping car tweaked to appeal to a different market, vauxhall dont have motorsport heritage like Subaru or Ford etc, so there cars are never gonna be amazing.. Pretty much ever vauxhall in the range past to present needs improvements to the suspension/handling to get the most out of them.. and I think your just dismissing that just because the mk4 astra isnt amazing out of the box, doesn't mean the cars "boring" "uninvolving"

Some good parts. tuned well and they're great fun

Not very cheap to tune, thats the reason most people would rather sell than spend the money getting it to where they want it to be.

I've come pretty close to selling mine a few times,

But I'm having another blast at it, with an engine rebuild and a garrett over the winter,

See how it goes
