oh yeah forgot about the insurance bit, its the fastest N/A 1.6 you can get though with 182bhp says so on wikipedia .

saxo vts or 106 gti is probably the fastest he can get without being raped by insurance.

any particular reason it has to be a 1.6? you can turbo a d15 for a couple of hundred and the power should be about the same as an ek9 and insurance wont be to bad either. might have to pretend the turbo is an alternator or something tho

civic SiR / Vti or saxo vts both take about 7.5 seconds to 62mph but civic goes to about 130 mph and saxo may have some sort of problem and implode lol but can also go to about 130. and both cost about 2k for decent ones i think

he said the fastest one not going to happen though.

as said, 106 GTi/Saxo VTS/EK4 Civic VTi.

alternatively, how much can you TB corsa's for? buy one for a grand, then spend the rest on tuning? or is it nowhere near?

you have to look at insurance groups etc, just because its a 1.6 does not mean it will be cheaper to insure then say a 2 ltr, you really need to look into other aspects aswell.

The policy will only let him hava a 1.6, But only allowed £2,500 to spend on it,
Keep telling him to get a 1.6 sport and make it a gsi rep or even buy a gsi lol

saxo vts is the blindingly obvious choice.
£1500 will get a very good example nowadays, £350 will get cams, £200 on supersprint, £100 for decent filter and £300 for mapping. you'll struggle to find anything as fun as that

If he's able to get a VTi or VTS over a Sport/GSi then he most certainly should take it.
