Ridiculously, RIDICULOUSLY fast machine!
My mates GP is on pistonheads just now...cheap!!!

Escos - as much as I adore looking at pic of minted ones & dreaming....I justy know I wont like it & it will feel like a 17yr old escort inside!!
Until you put your foot down and it takes off. Thats what makes a car enjoyable

Quite like the idea of a TVR to be honest.
I just fear it will break and cost a fortune!!
Dont they break lots!?!?

Parts may be an arse for them these days, since TVR doesn't exist anymore.

The parts are still being made. Can't remember the name of the company but parts are still readily available. And apparently the V8 isn't AS bad (I was reading up on them to get one myself ) But you said it yourself, you rarely ever drive, so a weekend toy of such awesomeness could be for you! But ask Stu, he had a TVR!

Yeah, tbh I know nothing about them except 1. it's referred to as when, not if its break's down!! & 2. It will define the men from the boys in the driving steaks & i'll probably stuff it into a hedge backwards on entry to the 1st wet scottish roundabout.

Ps; I bet it'll cost less to fix than the M3 should something go wrong I had a look at things such as clutch replacements from TVR Specialists just to get an idea... And it costs £600 which isn't THAT bad for a Supercar!

It's fibreglass though, so you can have a go at repairing yourself with halfords parts

My GFs good friend has a 4.2 V8 Cerb and it breaks near enough everytime hes out in it.Its already had a new engine which cost around £8k.The crank shattered into a million peices.
Its a complete weapon of a car,but very dangerous in the wrong hands.
If hes not feeling the full enjoyment of the M3 then imo he aint driving it to its full potential.A TVR would be a bad idea if you dont want £££bills.

Didnt it cost £7k or something for Stu to get his engine rtebuilt at like 20k miles or so?
I just know it would break in epic proportion but I guess thats part of the experience of owning one.

Exactly. The thought of getting out of the car with every successful journey, and thanking your lucky stars that you made it there makes it worth while Nik, apparently the 4.0 and 4.2's are worse than the 4.5

Eck its Ballsy from KC.
His private warranty has covered most of the repair work but i know they were trying to get out of paying for the engine when it went bang.
Its been on a flatbed more than the road lol.
He's had de-cat pipes fitted and it sound even more hell-like,and the flames it shoots on the over-run are crazy.
If it had wings it would take off,ive never been pinned to a seat as much,on full throttle its really hard to sit forward.
The windscreen is tiny too and you cant see shit out of it.

Aye I've seen a pic or two of it on the flatbed But a warranty would be essential for a car of that type As you say though, the noise is immense!

Oh here we go again. Months of endless threads with colin not knowing what car to get You must think too much when out at sea
But seriously, how much would you want to spend? shift the M3 but keep the mini for Jade cos anything you want just isn't going to be good for her to insure
Also you have the same issue of buying something and not getting the use out of it like the m3 and then in 6 months time be back here at square 1

i think you have answered the question yourself iv never drove 1 so cant really say much, but if its losing u £s and your not having that much fun cant be a good thing theres deffo cheaper things out there for less money...
