Do it, presuming you liked the car the first time round. When my first VX220 got written off I was always pretty sure i would replace it with another, really glad i did even though its not quite as good.

Well having owned both I think i'm in a better position than yourself to make a positive comment on that subject.
I can assure you that getting anything over than 25mpg in the civic is a hard thing to do unless you drive it under 4k rpm which isnt really the point in owning one of them. Tax itself is more expensive. Insurance wise it all depends on personal circumstances but between the 2 I can say it wasnt the massive difference that most will think. Even the price of both cars to buy are about the same.
I personally think the CTR an expensive car to run for what it is but if gavin likes them and he obviously does then fair play to him

Does an evo even get double figures on MPG when its driven properly? 5k mile oil changes too. Civic might be expensive to run for what it is but Evos are more comparable to £50k+ cars.

My wife gets 280 to a tank in the evo which I was shocked about lol and thats mixed driving. Yea the oil changes are frequent but do you know how much oil the CTR's use, Gavin will know this, a hell of a lot more than most cars out there including the evo.
I'm not knocking the CTR by all means as I loved the one we had but there bloody dear to run for what they are thats all i'm saying.

depends on what your outlook is on a car
I was gald to get rid of the TT. Expensive to run and had many issues with it
I needed a fast cost effective car
The 120 has been great and is very very cheap to run
If running costs are not high on the agenda then the CTR is a fantastic car
A to ecks comment on mpg
If you drive below 4k is reasonable. But I am sure to get 280 to a tabk on an evo is not getting the best of it - so defeats your comment
Drive any car slowly and its will be economical - drove them hard and they will all eat petrol

Evo and cheap running costs shouldn't be mentioned in the same breath.
5k oil services, what happens when it goes wrong? ££££
The CTR only has the usual things go wrong with it, bearings, bushes, clutches and none of them cost the earth to replace.
Get another Gav, I had an Astra-Corsa-Astra and don't regret at all getting another Astra.

Do what someone on here said, fill the petrol tank up with stones and get the local pikeys to come and pick it up and weigh it in.

Depends what sort of condition the original was in.
I went to look at a Fabia last weekend and it wasn't anywhere close to the condition my original one was in.
Realised that I couldn't have one in worse condition and there will probably be very few in the condition I'm looking for.

Will when you are better I will come up and get seriously on it, rip everything off and get the shell weighed in
We have just sold the old classic car that was in our garage so I have some space to fill with crap
Eck this one is mapped and aparently you can see 300 to a tank with a remap. but the fuel didnt bother me on the old one anyway
Only thing it cost me in the year I had it was a set of tyres and and rear disks
Only thing putting me off is the fact I stacked one and driving it hard might not feel right etc
