Just got back from the experience! It was great. I didn't get a choice in the end, so I was 'lumbered' with the V8. Got a tour of the track in a R.Rover first, then had 4 laps driving the Aston myself! No pics unfortunately though!

I went over to Elvington with 6th Gear experiences just outside York. I was suprised how busy it was, the missus couldn't get anywhere near to get any decent photos. My instructor races Scoobies professionally, so really knew his stuff. You could tell he had a very competitive streak.
Most of what he said was along the lines of ..

"...that's it son, keep your foot on the gas, we'll pass them on the next straight"

...that was said mainly when we were behind Lambos and Ferarris.

Before we set off, he was asking general questions like "what car do you drive, what cars have you had?" etc, just to get a rough idea of capability. After that, he trusted me and made us push a little harder than some other people on the track.

There was in instructor in a black M3 taking people round on a 'pay and play' basis...needless to say, he was by far the quickest on the track...poor car, he really was giving it ALL the beans form start to finish! The guys in the Aerial Atoms were pretty nifty too.

my instructor said the same to me. i was driving a ferrari 430 scuderia and there was some slow coach in a dodge viper.

was so fun overtaking it

he also asked about my car too, as you said, probably to get an idea whether you've drove anything with a decent amount of power.

the scuderia was immense, so flat around corners and the steering was unbelieveably tight and direct.

the noise couldn't hear the guy next to me at all on full chat, he had to singal to me to let me know when i should change up or down on the flappy paddle gear flap things

they are good fun those experiences. some people don't get to go that fast though, suppose it depends who you get.
