That must of had everything on the options list thrown at it!
The Golfs dont have as many options as the S3's either...

Quite like the Scirocco R, might have to get a test drive of that.
I think £27k is ok for one of them, pity its not 4WD though.

My old GTI had optional leather, xenons, 18s, cruise, built in sat nav with 6cd changer in leather armrest, heated washerjets and electric folding mirrors as well as all the std stuff like auto lights, auto wipers, auto dimming rear view mirror etc (which the S3 did not have as std) - that took the S3 to nearly £35k

Dont understand how you got to nearly 35k... S3 comes with most of what you listed as standard. Just the Sat Nav, cruise and auto lights and wipers you'd have to pay extra for.
Either way they still aren't cheap

Think youll find NOTHING i listed was comign std when it came out, maybe the 18s, everything else was an option the only thing it had over the GTI at the time was 4WD and an extra 65bhp!

IF the RS3 happens I would of thought it'd be more than that. The TT-RS starts at nearly 43k and that uses the same engine... mega expensive

43k for a Audi TT
50k for a Nissan GTR?
Is that a joke?
