So that ^^^ shape headlights are JDM and the others are UK?

yep 2 single lights is uk model, the back bumper has a fog light in as well. JDM have 1 large light and no rear fog light

Which would only be noticeable on a dyno.On the road etc there is nothing in it.

but you can only get the optional deletes on the JDM version making it a lot lighter. mine runs no abs, no airbags, no rear wiper and no high level brake light.

I raced a few JDM tegs at Santa pod, and it was neck and neck. Nothing in it at all!
That was before the nitrous kit ;-)

i just need to nit-pick that too, the UK ones have 282mm up front and 262mm at the back, the same as the 98 spec ones but they're also 15 inch rims as standard, not that theres much room on the front, you only just get away with the stick on wheel weights

i hear with the delete options you're looking about 1080kgs* i think, whereas the bloated ones (like i have, with ABS, airbags, air con) are in the region of 1140kgs. so 60kgs lighter from the word go, never mind the 10bhp increase

* i'm sure i've ready somewhere else that they're 1060kgs with none of the "luxuries"

Quite like the DC2 but i really can't make my mind up on the headlights. Prefer the JDM ones tbh but i don't think the conversion is that cheap tbh.

Elliot - yeah that was me on Sunday on canal road, but not in queensbury.
the uk cars look better in the flesh I think. They don't photo well. The uk ones and the jap spec ones are neck and neck on the road.

I'd love one of these, how much do they set you back roughly?!

And what would the insurance be like for a 20yr old with 2yrs No-Claims?

can pay as little as £3000 for a high miler (theres one for sale atm for £3295 with 153,000 miles) and you can pay up to 7/8k for a mint 98 spec import.

i paid £5850 for mine last year with 46k on, 1 elderly lady owner with FHSH, and i paid £1700 on insurance with the same circumstances as you, it came down to £700 odd a year later though

mmm... I'd probably be able to afford a high miler and the insurance then, got around 5k to spend, does the mileage have much effect on them? 153,000miles does sound a hell of alot when i consider my current corsa has 110,000 on it and it's ravaged

i paid 6k for mine with 49k on the clock. including mugen suspension. i pay £600 a year for insurance fully comp with protected no claims. JDM model is group 20. i also pay £250 to insure my skoda lol.

Yer you can pick a 96 spec up cheap and can upgrade the parts very easy.

I have a custom exhaust system on. It's not an off the shelf system. The mileage does not matter mate as they last forever. Service history is more impotant than mileage with these cars
