Mondeo ST24 is an alternative to look it, its main competition back when they were new(er).

I've got an ST24, but i've always got the urge to get rid and dip for a GSI.

Problem is they're similar age and mileage, and IMHO the idea of getting a "new" car is to get a newer one in better condition with less miles on the clock.

there isnt exactly a great deal between them. if you like fords you'd get the mondeo, if you like vauxhalls get the vectra etc. ive driven a few of the older st24's and theyre decent cars. just being a vauxhall type, i went for a vectra gsi as its a car i always wanted to have. technically i wanted a supertouring but the spec is of an sri just all white car.

I had an ST V6.. Hated it but I think I was probably just unlucky. It tried to kill me when I was driving it hard one night and a wheel bearing collapsed. Lost all confidence in it and just never really liked it. Made some money on it though..

I'd prefer a v6 ST to a GSI just because they are far rarer, I love GSI's though and I'd have one anyday. I had a v6 SRI last year and it was great, not fast but it had a little poke in it, was comfy and sounded nice aswell.
