Some companies now require the youngest driver to be the main one, or blame them in the event of an accident. They're wise to insurance fronting, you're not the first to do it.

Give the guy a break, i bet you at least half of the people on here including myself had there parent/etc as the main driver on a car they used. Some people just aint as well off or cannot afford it as such. Its a corsa forum for starters! He could be a student still at 18? I dont know, some people are quick to judge on this forum fair enough you let him know its technically not legal to do that but we all fucking do it lol.

Just dont pimp the car out then crash mate you might have a hard time explaining to the insurance company that your xx yr old mum loves a good bodykit and a few neons to let people know shes the bollocks.

if you went on compare the market and got a quote you then click on the website to finish the quote, some times the price of the quote can change once on the insurers website, so yes it will be 3k

I started off in a 1l Citroen AX. Start where you can afford to do it properly is my opinion.

to me that still seems expensive, joys of being female! At 18 I bought a new 1.6 16v astra sport, myself as main driver, no NCB, and was paying abou £900 FC

thats the thing femails insurance is half of what males is which is sexist..

i dont care if they say women drivers dont have as many accedents which is bull they do, but its the fact that there is more than twice the amount of male drivers to female drivers..

and deno its because of the area i live in its not desirable mate and everything is ecpensive... even my pairents who have 24 years of nc and insure a nissan almera 1.5 are still paying 400 fc

i got my corsa for 404 fc in the end

Once you have the car and have figured out how to insure it is there going to be a thread asking how to drive it?

as for insurance chloe is right, once yo follow the link from confused.com or compare.com or whatever, the insurer normally will ask some more detailed questions an ammend the quote to suit....

so yes it probably right that 3k

It is still really quite a lot. But trust me, I couldn't get it cheaper.

But it isn't all to do with being a girl. I presume that was some time ago? Insurance was cheaper than it is today like for like 3 years ago, I'm sure of it.

To be fair that's not a bad quote. I was paying £1500 third party on a 1.0 12v Corsa @ 19yrs old!

id ring them mate, ive been with them the last 3 years and theyve always been the cheapest. im not sure what quote is right which is why i usually ring then you may be able to get a better deal. they also dont charge a penny for alloys not matter what your ages/ circumstances and if you eventually wanted to lower it theyre good too, added £70 onto my annual price at the age of 18
