Would love one. They are holding their value far too well though.

Someone who works for my dad deals cars on the side and so know the auctions. I'd probably go with him to try and pick up something decent.
Not what I want but he picked up a 1.25 Zetec Fiesta on an 06 with low-ish miles for his wife for about £4.5k. They retail at £6k+.

My thoughts exactly.. You could have a car thats done 30k in worse mechanical condition than a car thats done 130k.. I'd rather buy the one thats been looked after properly regardless of mileage.

Get a 206 1.4 HDI. Its great on fuel and i get easily 700+ miles from a tank cruising to and from work. I only fill it up once every two weeks. Not the fastest car in the world, but will happily chug along all day long!
It is abit plastic-y inside, average seats, but not too bad! Only problems we have had with it is the earth cable rubbed on the battery tray and split - cost £4.99 to fix, and the reverse light switch went on the gearbox - took about 10 mins to replace.

Although you get good and bad at any mileage, unless it's a complete dog, the 30k car will always be better than the 130k car.

It isn't about the current condition, it's about the condition and mileage it'll be on in 3 - 5 years.
