yeah, you do realise how many cars there are on the road right?

Ive never had any problems with them, i always send letters to them recorded its only like a quid ffs....

But how many of these cars require DVLA attention on a single day? Also how many people work for the DVLA, they've got loads of regional offices etc.

I had the same thing. I refused to pay it and told them I had done everything by the book.

6 months later and a letter from a solicitor and the fine had now doubled and had solicitor fees on top. I had to pay it then. Twats. I'd pay it now while it's cheap. you'll regret it in 6 months.

I would rather lose by a mile because i built my own car, than win by an inch because someone else built it for me.

I had it regarding a change of ownership, but I also had a phone call to the office on my mobile bill after they sent me confirmation that someone had applied for the log book.

The managed to lose the original correspondence at Christmas though, which is why the new owner had to apply for the log book again.

If you can legitimately say that you posted it then they should revisit the fine. Just keep phoning back until they agree to put it in writing that they're not fining you.

Does depend who you speak to and you need to be nice.

Otherwise yes, they'll rob you on the back of their inefficiencies and the fact that they employ lazy wankers who appear to throw mail away instead of answering it.

Totally agree, I got a cheeky letter from them because I put 2000cc on the V5 instead of 1998cc.

They got a nasty phonecall from, it was a woman as well - what would they know about 'cc'

ive sent the form. ive sent everything back in june. ive written a letter as i was told to do at the time. i did everything i was instructed to do when i asked on the phone.

ive been to dvla today in carlisle and spooke to them. ive got to write a letter stating my case that they are trying to fine me by mistake, and the hnest words of the person behind the desk. it happens to most people. pay up now to avoid further charges.

so the advice from the dvla afte ri did everything by the book for scrapping a car, is to pay a fine that i got when i shouldnt have to avoid further action.

are they for fuckin real? id rather be robbed by a crack addict at knife point. id atleast then understand why money is getting stolen off me. utter fuckin cunts.

fuckin raging i am. 104 quid it is. for their own fuck up.
