Not had a GTI but do have a 1.1 and its a really nice car to drive, i love it. Had it 2 1/2 years which is the longest we've ever kept a car for. Seriously considering a GTI 180 next.

A friend of mine has got the 140bhp model - seems to go ok, gives it death every day and aside from wear and tear it's not gone wrong! But yea they aren't that fast - was a tiny bit quicker than my old corsa sport (1.6)
