nah they're not the same thing, I just said they were a similiar sort of thing to m3 mirrors, they're different though. Quite hard/expensive to get hold of.

can someone close to you not give you a hand?

if you wanna drill your airbox, its a bit awkward getting it out on a corsa c, but shouldn't be too hard, your old fella would probably be able to get it out.

i had a piper panel filter in mine, and i didnt notice any fueling differences.

I actually found the Pipercross one better in my C than the K&N one Ah well!

But yes if keeping the air box, de-restrict it ( a pipe inside the box can be cut out) and also look at getting the air feed pipe (the bit that sits outside the box and goes to the grille on the car) from a Vectra C Diesel - it's a lot bigger, and noticeably made the car pull better through the gears. You won't get any improvement in sound from these though, just very slight performance increase.

Sound wise, a backbox and straight through centre section would be my choice.

You definitely won't use any more fuel with an aftermarket panel filter, if anything I have been getting better consumption now.

If you want to hear it start up and rumble at the lights then go for an Ashley backbox

The rubber edging on my pipercross is falling apart, the spongy filter part has sunk and I now have a flat spot at about 4k (not that it often gets revved that high but you know) I really don't rate it. The k&n I had in my 1.5td B however lives on in top condition in my brothers 1.0 12v B.

Try cleaning it.

A free flowing filter is a free flowing filter, there will be no difference in power characteristics between a piperx or k&n. Its probably clogged up with shit.
