If you have the time why don't you buy a few products and try it yourself?
I know quite a few people who have the detailing bug after giving it a go themselves.

time and space are against me unfortunately, I work 9-5:45
by the time I get home it's 6, if it's good weather and I beat my sister home then I can usually give it a quick hand wash.
We only have a two car driveway an have 4 cars.. So weekends are a problem and I'm generally seinf my gf, doubt she would apreciate me cleaning my car when she's here

The great thing is, once you learn how to clean and protect your car properly, it becomes so easy to look after it.
With a high quality wax or sealant applied to the car, the dirt hardly sticks, so a thorough jet wash (not a supermarket jet wash though) every time its a bit dirty or its got a few flies on it, and they should come right off.
Thats the thing most people forget about, yeah sure your bro may spend 30hours on 'cleaning' a car, but its building up protection to make it easy to keep clean. Although I'm still a noob to car cleaning, a few months back some mates were asking how long I spend cleaning the car that day, when I replied with 'about 5 mins' they didn't believe me!
A quick question for any detailers, how should a polish like Lime Prime be used by hand? I always thought you are supposed to work it into the paint a bit, leave a while then buff off. But I heard someone saying recently about working it into the surface until its gone.

The car belongs to c20let from this site, so you could send him a U2U and he might tell you.

Yeah, I think it does, but Autosmart Tardis is a bit stronger so it would remove tar and glue a little easier. You also get 5L of it for £18.96 whereas you get 473ml of Bug Squash for £9.50.
I guess you have to ask yourself whether you need something as strong as Tardis? If you're not removing badges, rub strips or anything that will leave a gluey residue then maybe Bug Squash will be sufficient. Also, because Autosmart Tardis is in a 5L container, the cost is bumped up to about £27 after P&P has been added.
Maybe Bug Squash would be better suited to you...

It totally depends on the level of work required, but prices range from:
£395 + VAT for an all surface protection detail (1 day)
£695 + VAT for a minor paint correction detail (2-3 days)
£995 + VAT for a major paint correction detail (3-4 days)
For the Ne Plus Ultra package... well, if you have to ask
For a more in depth guide of what each package involves, take a look at the service options page on thier website.
They also offer different maintenance plans.

I don't think you have to be a paid member to post in threads there? Just registered.
I could be wrong though...
