Then you want one of these for the bikes.

And no, it isn't wrong, I'd love a Zafira for the exact same reason i.e. bikes. 2.0DTi for me though I think.

Normally compatible. That pictures is a Thule product. Their ProRide roof rack which mounts by the front wheel has a 20mm adapter
If not there are other in-car ones available designed for vans etc.

I just looked on AutoTrader. A lot of the petrol onces seem to have low mileage on. Trouble is you can just imagine that it has got abused on the school run going up kerbs and shit like that.

It's been designed for that kind of use, so it's not going to cause it too much hassle.

Surely hitting kerbs and stuff repeatedly could seriously screw over the steering stuff?!

Not really an issue, bottom arms cost pennies.

I quite like them.
I had one last year, very handy car with plenty of room and cheap enough.
Mine was a 1.8 16v Auto, got this as the 1.6 manual struggled seriously.
This mine just after I'd fitted eibachs to it, it did settle down a little further - but then I sold it!
It had polished 17" Omega MV6 alloys.
