What would a decent one go for £4000?

Yup, everything cosmetic wise just worked well together (although these days I think it could of been a tad lower)

a decent rev 3 will go for about 4k but that will be far from standard.

G-Limited comes with 115bhp I think. It's the bog standard lowest spec non-turbo import model IIRC.
the early 3s-fe engines were 115bhp. after 91 they turned to the 3s-ge engine which went to 158bhp then 94 onwards went to a retuned 3s-ge which was 173bhp.
this is my rev3 which i just sold.

on my 6 one now.
the t.bars are prone to leaks but there are many tricks to cure this.
if your friend neeeds any spares i have tonnes!!!

But don't the rev 1 and 2 have the different rear suspension setup?

Yes, they are not as well set up as the Rev3 tbh.
