most see between 185 and 195 BHP
Where did you read that.. Most make close to the 200 and more if there on the right setting for the car..
To be honest its the torque thats out of this world so I dont really care as it will never be on a rr..

Phil W i know what you mean but to do anything to it would make it look like a pre-facelift. The stripes on the lower grill are actually just silver, only the surround is chrome look.
OJC, cheers, will have to wait and see if you were right about the eibachs being a bad choice.
Eibachs will be fine. OJC is a drama queen. They are pretty hard, but i've experienced no issues.
Car looks awesome... I love the 5-door with Exterior Pack. Looks better than Sporthatch with Exterior Pack imo. The 5-door shape really suits it. Mine made 197bhp on rollers with same box. I miss that car in some ways.

I'm still tempted by one of these, the new 5 door is out for the end of the year though so I can see them dropping even further.

Yeh around the 160 mark I've heard.. There good engines, supposed to be stronger than the 150's aswell.

I thought the 120bhp 16V engines were the exact same engine as the 150's but with a different map? And therfore can be mapped to the same as the 150bhp version. Dont quote me on that though, just sure i read it somewhere.
Car looks awesome now Kano.

I'm sure the 120 are 8v and the 150 16v?

Just had a quick look on parkers and they list an 8v and a 16v 120bhp version. Pretty sure that the 16v can be remapped to 200bhp same as the 150.

Fuck knows then.
I wouldn't mind either.
Can't see the pics posted in this thread at work but will look again when I'm at home.

early 120's have the 16v engine which is a detuned 150
later ones have the 8v engine which go up to around 170 with a box on
mines is the 8v and is actually a pretty good engine, bought that because the insurance was about a grand cheaper, but if you can afford it then the 150 is a much better engine

thats a load of tripe.
z19dt engine is an 8v single cam engine, which is 120ps.
z19dth/r engine is a 16v twin cam engine which is 200ps.
my brothers z19dth has a green ecu tuning box, and did 197 on the rr, apparently 390ft/lb but i dont see that being possible.

what pish are you talking?
the dt is an 8v 120, i know, its sitting in my drive
the z19dth is the 16v 150 engine, there is no 200ps engine in the astra as standard?
untill 2006 the 120 engine was a detuned z19dth which came with the engine code z19dtj
z19dtr is the engine code used for the 180 engine in the saab so i dont see why your mentioning it here?

i dont know the technical ins and outs but it plugs into the fuel rail and basicly overfuels the engine to make more power/torque

Yip box just adjusts the fueling.
The reason a remap is better than a box is because the box can only alter the fueling as much as the ecu will compensate for, it can't alter the turbo to supply more air.

"Please note that the Z19DTJ (120 hp) engine is a low power version of the Z19DTH (150 hp). However, both the engines have got Z19DTH stamped on the engine block. Dealers who are working with a Z19DTJ engine order parts associated with the Z19DTH engine leading to incorrect parts ordered. Dealers need to be aware that the 120 hp version of Z19DTH is referenced as Z19DTJ in the A04 Astra-H Catalogue. "
this is all the 1.9 engines vauxhall have listed on this version of TIS

*edit* - the z19dtl is a 8v 120 engine also
