It's going through a turbo so it's not really going to make a blind bit of difference.

Its fine where it is, near enough in the wing, so can suck loads of cool air up from road level, as theres nothing in the N/S wing

If you wanted to though, you could get a shield for around the filter, so it can only get air from the wing then

You can buy manifold wrap from the likes of tweeks, it's like a roll of heat resistant tape, kinda like a the material in fire blanket, If you've got a nice stiankess manifold, wrapping it will keep the gasses hotter and elp the exhaust flow more freely

as for raising the bonnet, it depends on the hinges, if you look in gc Nic Barnes made a thread, it shows corsa's but will give you an idea

Raising the bonnet isn't always the quick fix people make it out to be. Sometimes disrupts the airflow in such a way as the hot air is just circulated in the bay anyway.

I think it depends on the car. Maybe it works on some and not others depending on the design, bonnet length etc.

Intake trumpets feeding cold air from the front of the car have to be best surely, it's always high pressure there

Yeah, depends on the scuttle panel to. If the air flows over the bonnet/scuttle and up the windscreen it'll create a vortex at the back of the bonnet which'll help draw hot air out. If the scuttle is less aerodynamic and the windscreen is steeper the air over the bonnet could create an eddy at the back of the bonnet which would limit the airflow out of the engine bay.

You need to get that battery in the boot! looks soo messy there! Do what I did to get rid of the fuses

quote:

Now I never liked the look of how the fuses were on top of the battery, so I decided to re-locate them. I will be getting a battery cover soon to finish it off

How it was

Chop this down, like so

Attach firmly

so now, nice and neat

Cheers, its such an easy thing to do. take the nut off which holds the fuses onto the battery terminal, cut the bar off (leaving room to drill a hole in it), cut the plastic down too, drill the hole, then whack a cable on it, and cable tie it on the header tank mount
