Even with the XE you would have a tough time shaking it as they're 170bhp aren't they
Also only a torque-less 1.6 16v like the civics. An XE Corsa would probably rape it in a straight line.Dunno what they handle like tho so cant comment if it was the twisties.
0-60 in about 8 secs so not really that quick.

a white oldish saloon volvo, was level pegged with my 330ci
i heard the dump valve and it was atleast a standard t5 guessing by how well it shifted(330ci is 231bhp and 0-60 in 6) and im always wary of modded volvos, still was abit of a suprise though, proper sleeper

Nothing in the Astra.
In the Polo the other night was coming down the slip road to the motorway and there was a Mk6 Zetec S Fiesta behind me, I thought I would start to edge away but the distance between us stayed the same to an indicated 120mph.
Didn't think they were that fast.
Graham? Maybe he was slip streaming me TBH.

ah that reminds me of when I 1st got the black Corsa SXI. On the way home from the garage thinking my car was pretty quick after upgrading from a 1.2 8v
Saw what I thought was a MK1 1.2 Clio lowered on some nice wheels. Both put our foot down and I got made to look like I was going backwards. Turned out it was one of those 1.8 RSi jobbies

Clio Williams2
I was in my Octavia vRS TDi, running 180hp/290lbft
On a DC, Clio was just sat in front of me the whole way, I had the torque to push it along, he had the rev range to keep in front. I topped out 5th gear too, which was an indicated 130... whoops. 6th gear didn't help either...
Didn't realise they were 150hp, and in a slightly weight reduced Clio, it kinda says it all.
Needless to say, my Octavia is up for renewal imminently, and I'm not getting another Diesel...

They're not fast, just 'nippy'. All helped by a short ratio box mainly, past 3k it builds up speed quite quickly
What Polo do you have?

i wouldnt be, both the 335d and 335i are seriously quick, remember on the m1 seeing a 535d giving an evo 7 a hard time!
if your sticking with a 335d then fair play i would be happy with that
