For that money id get the M3, if you have to then get the 330d 320d will be the same economy in real life as you will have to rev it more to get the results as 330d, e.g pulling out at junctions overtaking. you could always sell the m3 if its not what you want as they aren't exactly hard to sell

To be honest its all down to what You use the car for, if its not a huge amoutn of miles, id say m3 if it is and stuck in traffice etc id say the derv which still looks mint!

yes the old 150 engine isnt the best and quite noisey
The 163 and 177 are far better
Depends on milage
I do cica 25k a year so no way could I run a petrol

I've driven one of the old 150 engined E46's and it wasn't great. Like whitter says the newer 163 & 177s are the ones to go for.
