but slagging off people doing stuff on their own budget when you get it all on sponsors isnt really on is it? christ if i had sponsors id be loving it. instead of spending my own money on what you call a gay car to do gay 1/4 miles.

your track car i bet isnt like a corsa that someone uses every day is it?

£1000 is alot of money to some people as well lol

Im far from a fan of 1/4 mile but anyone can do it for a bit of fun regardless of how quick a car they own, track days cost more, theres a bigger chance of crashing and alot of folk dont want to put their daily runner through the strain of a track day so 1/4 mile is a good way of having a bit of cheap fun.

thats very lucky then in the current climate!

Finding sponsors to provide 80% of the budget. We get discounts and some freebies but nothing like that :/

What do you race in Formula Students - single seater (formula ford) type cars? Or is it the in house built things?

Ah.... falling into place.... its not your money! University/College.

muzzy . you are correct. £1000 to spend on a hobby is nothing if you work for it.

but it is. it would take me possibly 5 months or more to save 1000 quid. to me thats a lot of money and a lot of time saving for that money. i have an average job. i just manage to be able to afford to do the corsa let alone run in some race series.

Not everyone is in the position to be able to spend a thousand pounds on a racing car. Folk have houses to pay for, children etc and nowadays its hard to find a job that will pay for all that and still have a nice wad of cash left to spend on race cars.
