Can't sell it, the most valuable part worth stripping & selling is fucked.

Roughly how much is a job like that?
Sorry to hear it's broke though fella

If the bores are scored then it's engine out. It will probberly be engine out anyways....
I will buy brand new mhale forged pistons, new rings & bearings. Will probberly cost about £650, plus labour on top.

Sounds like you have had this car built around other peoples promises and handy work on the important bits. If its just the rings, you should be able to get away with a set of rings and not need the block re-honing. It would also be a good time to check the crank bearings for signs of wear to see if the rebuild claims are true or not.
Sometimes, even though you have spent a lot of money on something its best to just cut your future losses and sell it on and make it somone elses problem or it could end up being a life long persuit, and no one wants to be 30 years old living at home with a corsa on the drive owning them in excess of 30k - what a waste of a life.
To me, it sounds like it needs the engine out, and a proper full rebuild to ensure everything is fresh and upto the job as these rebuild claims could well be false. If the rebuild claims were bogus then you are in for a shit load more problems over time so its best to just have it out, strip it down and put it back together with new parts safe in the knowledge its all fresh and is going to last.
Tally up the price of a full top and bottom rebuild, and in the meantime order a set of rings for all 4 cylinders and put them in, if the bores and crank journals look ok then you have a cheap repair but if theres scoring and wear on the journals then you know you need to spend the full amount of the rebuild on it and then its upto you if your going to fix it or cut your losses.

im sure theres plenty of people on here that will give a hand getting it sorted upsets me when people strip cars. yes its had 10k+ ploughed into it so why the hell not spend a bit more and sort it rather than lose shed loads of money. you will never get your money back no matter what you do. i dont spend money on my car in the hope i get it back one day i do it to make me smile and by the sounds of it your car does that for you so get it sorted

Mate gutted to hear about this I agree with Andycnumbers though, it's an ace car and if it were mine then I'd want it fixed. Yours and Ojc's were the two biggest talking points of the March meet so it'd be a shame to see it gone.

Gutted
I got to the point where I had spent that much money on mine that I kept on on having to chuck money at it to keep it mint as it seemed like a waste to just let it rot. Sometimes though you have to say enough is enough

I'm in two minds at the moment. I know i will not get my money back, but modding a car is not about that in my eyes. I spent the money on my car because from day 1 i wanted a corsa just the way i've built mine. Keep an eye on this thread or my project at the end of the month to see what happens mate.
