whole car should be clayed then re washed before polishing. The kestrel da is really good from all the reviews i've seen.
One thing i would advise tho dan is when you next polish your car instead of correcting it (unless you have heavy swurling which you shouldn't get if you use 2 bucket method and a grit gard) use srp (super resin polish) really good product.. Quite filler heavy but in that it fills the very light scratches and gives you a nice finnish. Haven't used it with a da but by hand it comes up a treat.

Nice one mate - looks very good results for first attempt. Total correction to VAG paint with a dual action will take forever, but if you're in no rush that's ideal!

And tbh, it's near on impossible to burn through using a dual action polisher
