Nic,

You have once again TOTALLY missed my point, and assumed all on your own that i called you/your car chavvy?? Your 500bhp Corsa is slightly different to a standard LET running minimal power mods to which i do have personal experience with. To answer your question no i didnt have my inlet temps measured but i also suffered no powerloss, nor flatspots, no any running or fuelling issues. Confirmed when rolling roaded. Proof? No but any more inspection would have been anal and looking for a problem where there isnt one.

Mine was "hidden" from view but was behind the number plate cutout which according to people on Vauxsport (chip to be precise) would be more beneficial as it would have caused the air to swirl behind it moving the hot air constantly replacing it with cold (bit like the effect of a spolier on downforce etc) As for under bonnet temps i do know about this as my fans i had on my corsa where shit, and the fact the glowing hot turbo is sat 1" from the radiator with little air in the small bay to move around means that it gets VERY hot as im sure anyone whos owned one would know.... Do i know all the science and techy bits? No i dont im afriad. But i have a basic understanding and 1st hand experience so less of the belittling without evidence.

Now if we remind ourselves of my point (which i do apologise if i didnt explain very well) is that having it "hidden"i.e behind mesh or in a deep cutout bumper is far nicer and as effiecient as it would need to be on a road car. I am reffering to "slapped on" intercoolers which probably do more harm than good with dodgy bends in pipework and being ever so slightly un-areodynamic as well as being exposed to the elements and betting broken very quickly.

Heres some example of poorly designed turbo cars:

It's just because he's high class now & drives an m3 & tries to lead the snob life.

My intercooler is hanging out of my bumper for a reason, to get alot of air to it! The boost pipes in mine have no dodgey bends .

Your making yourself seem like a right snooby cnut. Just remember a corsa with a let in it with a chavvy intercooler hanging out will dick on your rich man wannbee style life m3.

I know what jambo is on about. a blatantly on show intercooler looks shit:

And what about porsche, ferrari, bugatti and any other manufacturer who makes rear engined turbo cars that dont have the option of a full frontal exposed intercooler? Are they doing it wrong too?

As long as the intercooler has sufficient ducting and venting to direct cool air into its fins it should be fine for optimal gains hidden or not.

again, these cars arent a corsa. they dont have a corsa size engine bay. they are "DESIGNED" to be how they are. a corsa isnt. under bonnet temps suffer massively on a corsa. ignore other manufacturers and other cars that have been "DESIGNED" to work like they do. corsa, you have turbo close to rad, rad close to intercooler.

jambo basically didnt explain his first reply enough. "hidden is best" doesnt mean put a bit of mesh over it so it can still get the full benefit of air flow over it. well maybe not to me. im sorry i dont understand that reply to mean that. my bad.

I think all he's saying is it would perform 'better' with more of the intercooler exposed to direct air flow. Is it really that hard to see where barnes is coming from? It's common sense

Do you actually realise why people by the likes of M3's etc?

Maybe becuase they want a fast, smart, stylish car out of the box?

One that does not takes weeks, months, years to build?
One that has a warranty?

i could go on all day long about this!

You can not comment on the life Jambo lives?

no, jambo just shouldnt ahve suggested when intercoolers arent hidden that it looks chavvy. as thats pointless. some people have them as they need them to work and be efficient at what they do.

we dont all have turbo engines just to go to show and shine events and never drive the cars. some of us use them.
