@ the build quality of a saxo, a supposedly metal box being less tough than a badger

hit a deer at 80 in the works van last year, was scary as chuff took out the grill and half the front bumper and a headlight. all that was wrong with the deer was a hole in its side from the tow eye, and the fact it was dead
felt horrible for days after

erm done that and didnt even know the twat was under the car!

he came flying across my road on a bike as i was rolling to a stop, but i was looking the other way at the traffic. Heard a clonk but thought it was all the crap in the boot until this "foreign gentleman" popped up from under the front of the car, in a pink t-shirt, covered in crap and blood with his bent up bike!

Oh i laughed for days!

A lady walking past then lectured him on road safety and how next time he will die. Dont think he understood her tbh!

Dont think so but if you run over a dog you have to report it, however you don't if you hit a cat.

Yeah I thought that i'll see if I can dig out the removal of the bumper pics.

It looked a state behind there as hares are quite solid compared to fluffy rabbits.

Sounds like what happened to me, also in a weak bumpered french car (206 GTi). Hit a cat at about 70mph, fast country road, middle of nowhere(in my defense I had no chance of avoiding it, as it appeared out of a hedge at speed and proceeded to cross the road without looking with a bird in its mouth). It knocked my foglight out of line, cracked the bumper and also damaged my air con fan/ radiator fan, which now makes an almighty noise when the rad fan/ air con fan comes on.

The only good news from the story was coming home later on the same road, I saw the cat lay there motionless and the bird had dissapeared from the cats mouth, that was one lucky bird.

I think I have hit all in all 2 cats (both in peugeot GTis), numerous rabbits, an owl, had lots of small birds stuck in my front grill, and plenty of squirrels and also the odd pheasant, countless crows and a few pigeons.

Im not some crazed animal killer and dont go aiming for them, I like cats and other animals, They just seem to hit me in most cases
