oh right, maybe i should not buy a new focus rs then and i should just buy a XE corsa and spend the rest on a powercap? this is sure to be faster then a focus then. cheers for the help.

Corsa XE will do 140 at its limit.
ST does more.
ST pulls harder in gear than a corsa.
Corsa weights nowt, but weight is only good for acceleration and handling and doesn't effect top speed.
NO WAY was my XE corsa anything near the astra VXR, and the astras marginally quicker than an ST. And thats driving all cars i've mentioned.
As said, at lower speeds, traction isn't an issue in an XE corsa, nor an ST, so up to 80 odd it would be fairly close, but after that, bye bye corsa.
As for those saying their standard XE corsas keep up with VXR's We run ours on unleaded which makes it dog slow, but it would have still eaten my XE corsa up
Mine was marginally slower than a CTR
Marginally quicker than a 172, on pace with a 182.
Never had an issue with a 1.6 16v Pug/Saxo, but seen many claims and videos of said cars matching XE times on the 1/4. Won't pull as hard top top end though.
XE Corsa and a Corsa VXR would be interesting (think the Corsa D would need a stage 2 due to the weight at low speeds).

From a rolling start to about 100 theres not much in it at all, after that the VXR pulls away
