my lowest averidge was 11mpg lol but Its my first turbo car and i had only just got it, the averisge is about 24 the now.
gets 60mpg all day long at 30mph and 4th gear, no bad for a remapped 1.8 20v turbo golf

Thinking about it, you could probably get that to show on the computer if you reset it while sitting at 30, that's not really accurate though.
It's even less accurate when remapped.

ill reset it when i leave work then drive home and tell you what I get.
its hard to keep it at 60 though. constanly accelerating and de celerating very gently is the way, that way it ranges on the current mpg from 45 - 140 mpg if you do it right which gives you an averidge o around 60ish.
does the remap knock it out ?

If you take it out of gear and coast down a hill you can get over 100mp in my golf
Being serious though i average about 28mpg mixed and high 30's/40's on Mway stints.
Not really bothered tbh only keep my eye on it incase it drops to levels it shouldnt = somethings fooked.

I've never seen a vag computer with an average that's not optomistic, remaps make them even worse, it's knocked mine out at least 10%, maybe more.

it's how you drive it, and it's not just about going slow but throttle controll.
This bloke at work always bangs on about mpg. I had to nip over to Wales for work, didn't have my car so borrowed his cooper s. Anyhow get back and he's astonished by the mpg I got. Ok I took it pritty steady but did redline it in every gear going over the Severn bridge. I
just told him to learn to drive lol.

Redlining every gear is knowing how to drive is it?

I get about 29mpg in my 2.2 Vectra SRi, but I dont care much for MPG...
It does my head in because all the onboard computer tells you is, how much mpg your getting or whats left in your tank etc etc I dont care...!

The average isn't too bad most of the time. I usually have mine on the miles to empty but even that can be all over the place sometimes

You don't buy an M3 to worry about fuel consumption anyway...so I don't see why people would be fussed
