Well done on the job mate.
S2000 seems like a good call, but you realise the tank on them isn't that big - you'll be lucky to see any more miles from it than the 106 tbh. Plus its a group 20 insurance - not sure if that matters to you.....

apk how big are the tanks?
I think i'm gonna hunt out a s2000 forum, or wait for NISMO to come online.

Buy one decent car and make use of it.
By no means I am saying what to buy but I manage with one car and I do 30k + miles a year in it.
+1 with what he said
2 cars is alot more expensive then it first seems compared to what you will save. Only really worth it if you want to have a proper dedicated track wepon.
Plus if your like me I would always be tempted to spank money on the daily runner
I do about 300 miles a week in mine and its fine not bad on fuel with my sensible hat on (about 280 miles to 40 litres) and comfy enough to cruise around in
I would imagine an s2000 would be much the same

Think its a 50 litre tank, ideally running on super. Most on S2ki (decent forum btw) don't even manage 300 miles off that!

Sack the 106 off.
How many track days do you do a year? I know its nice to have to cars but its not worth it. I did it for a bit, daily runner and the corsa on the side. Corsa didnt get touched once!
My intention was trackdays etc but i think it must of seen 2 hours track time in 18 months?
deffo not worth it. Also doing that many miles on a daily basis you may get fed up of having the stupid BARRRRRMMMM from the chav exhaust.
If you cant have two cars on the drive, get rid off the 106 now as someone wil still buy with that milage, and get a daily drive. (something comfortablre and cheap to run like a corsa sri cdti, ibiza tdi) as if you are doing 70/80 miles on the motorway you will probably want to cruise at higher speeds (90) which will work out the same as driving a 1.6 focus for example at 70 mph.
If you were allowed to keep two cars. Deffo 106 and a daily drive.
But s2000's are very expensive to insure, and i wouldnt have one for purely just driving to work miles away everyday.

I think you should get a CTR or a DC2 for around 5-6k Paul now thinking about it.
Sack the two car idea as the track car will always end up being a money pit! Value for money wise how often will it see the track? Also it limits you as you will have a fair bit of capital tied into it which wont allow you to chop and change car as and when you like.
However if it was someone worthy of having a second car such as a E30 M3 or a Lnacia Delta Intergralle fair enough.

Yes, I concur... However, I'm not going to stop going on track and due to space on the drive, I can't have 2 cars.
We already have 5 cars and a motorbike on the drive and my dad wants to buy a corrado

sell sell sell....
but an impreza
Thats the 3rd car i've suggested now
On a serious note
Do you not feel you've outgrown the 106gti? Its young wippersnappers car (ok, just checked your age... 25... not that valid then )
A 'normal' car can be good fun on track without wrecking it. Standard engine is the key.... keep it working at it should, dont strain it. Fit decent pads (on the day if needs must to maintain a decent drive during the week)... same goes with cut slicks etc...
Running multiple cars does get expensive... esp when they tend to have a habit of all requiring tax/ins/mots at the same time Try that motherfucker out for size with skyline, impreza, 911 and navara. Doh
1 car if you think you can preserve a car on track.... and make it to work with it on the monday.
If you arent convinced keep the 106 (it isnt costing you, and you'll get feck all for it) and buy something about 4yrs old that you wont be tempted to have fun in. Beemer TD estate for example.

get something that's fun on the road, if you like driving why spend most your life driving round in something boring. Go for something like a s2000 or a r26 meg which looks abit more grown up but will still hold it's own on the track

I may look into this jr.
It's not worth enough to sell it really, for the 'fun' it can give me ... Could garage it, then buy a economical car for the commute. This is what I personally wanted to do as it's cheap as poss really.
What mpg do CTR's do? surely be similar to s2000?
Although Fad saying his clio 182 does 400 miles to a tank was surprisingly interesting.

Fuck me if I drove the Astra in 6th I could get it to do 400 miles to a tank. Come on now, if you want economical buy a derv.
Get a CTR, ASAP. You will love it, I know you will.

make sense paul
limited milage policy on the 106, and a low inurance run around wont cost you a great deal
you could even just insure the 106 to bring out for trackdays for £12 a day
