The road we was on was a dual carrige way with a limit of 50 mph. Reason why i have said 40 -50 mph was because of the speed limit on that road. He must have been going pretty fast because his skid marks were about 12ft long.

Ahh, looks like he'd managed to slow right down by the point of impact then. Glad it wasn't the corsa you were in.

Me too to be honest, like i said earlier it would have been 10x worse. Just gutted for my mate because he loves his passat.

I don't know, German cars are made from strong stuff. We had a 205 hit the back of a BMW we used to have at about 20 mph, 205's front end collapsed, only obvious external damage on the BMW was a scuff on the bumper but the spare wheel well was dented when we checked it further
