If he's concerned about the resale value then a focus RS is not for him at all. My dad paid 22k i think for his when it came out, it's done 33k & i think he'd get 9k for it at a push.

a 13k loss in 7 or so years isn't that bad i've lost probably 5k on mine in 9 months
The Mk1 RSs were only £19,995 brand new, so unless he paid a 2k premium to beat the waiting list he will have only lost 11k in 7 years.
My dad only lost £3,500 in about 4 years.
Regardless of what you think, the focus RS does hold its value well.
My dad doesn't mind spending money, but hates to feel that hes wasting it, or throwing it away. Thats why he only really buys cars that are guaranteed to hold their money well (this doesn't neccesarily apply to the Mk2 RS though, as no one really knows how much this is going to be worth in 2 years time).

My advice would be to not buy a Ford Focus.
Especially after rolling one.
They must be prone.
The previous one was great, and it wouldn't have rolled if my dad wasn't driving like a nutter that night
I think he really has his heart set on another RS, but for some reason needs his head convincing.
I'm doing my best

Hence why i put " i think ". It was a few years ago when he bought it.

tbh, civic type-r wont matter what miles is on it. engines are bullet and nuclear strike proof. better purchase allround than a scabby ford.
i dont really think someone who drives a corsa is in any position to say that.
he drives a vectra

I realise that, but i wasn't sure if he paid over the odds to get his hands on one early.
I actually thought they were £21k brand new, but according to a website they were a fiver short of £20k.

Yeah, they're not that quick standard.
Decat it and remap it and you notice a big difference.

I'd prefer focus rs over Leon cupra R.
But then as a daily driver? I think a focus rs probably wouldn't be great either.
I'd go for the 2nd rs, £8500 ...

£1 You sound confident
I was only referring to it as a scabby vauxhall cos you did that to Ford.
Whats your vectra? 2.5 V6? I wouldn't make too many plans for that pound

so what if its 487 odd bhp, if people solely wanted something for speed they would buy a motorbike. At the end of the day it would still just be a corsa.
