That could well be true but ive never had any problems with them.

Had a Greddy gauge in my old Pulsar,it read 1.1bar held,stuck the TIM gauge in,it read 1.1 bar held.Had it RR'd and it was pushing 1.1bar(just over 17psi) so the gauge wasnt lying.
