If you look under the bonnet you'll understand. The V8 is bloody enormous! I'd love to see one of the new W12 ones

When my Dad was doing some work for Audi last year they had a W12 one come in and something relatively simple had gone wrong with it but it was still an engine out job to get to it
And I'm sure he said the V10 in the new RS6 has to be dropped off its mounts for servicing or something daft like that!
I guess the people that buy these sort of cars have the cash to splash on them though

Mine was the 4.2 V8, was an amazing car.. Took £110 to fill it when I had it at the high priced fuel times.. Used to drive around at about 20mph everywhere with the BOSE stereo on and a bit of gangster lean... lol.

Will own an S8 at some point, even mine hit its digital limiter at 155 within a mile quite easily, acceleration was insane for the size of it..

About 350, maybe a bit more, that was mostly town driving and spirited runs though..
I picked it up in London and filled it up and it nearly got me all the way home on a tank.. Was averaging over 35mpg with it sat at 60 - 70 all the way up the M6

Apart from I'd have the M3 over it any day.. For 3k though itwas a hell of a lot of car...
Only depressing thing was that when it was started from cold it got 5mpg for the first mile till it got a bit of heat in it, luckily it had a button to blank off the mfd for those depressing moments..

It had done 175k.. BUT... it had full history and was originally a government car according to the paperwork so I didnt mind the mileage. Also had an S8 interior in it so there was no wear. Never actually managed to trace whos it was but the majority of the mileage was done in its first few years. Some of the service bills were hilarious, like £2.5k bills for servicing and repairs..
Ran and drove like a sub 100k car though, never gave me any problems apart from it chewing a set of back tyres at 150+ because they were the wrong speed rating..
