"Ring Project"

The ring isn't exactly a Sunday drivers road is it?

nah, it's not that james.

It's the combination of that car and that track...

Nurburgring Scares the shit out of me, having to go flat out around it in a car that is slightly capable is a pretty hairy experience... the bumps, the off camber, the huge climbs and descents, the slippery surfaces, the speed at which other cars come flying around the track at you etc...

It's been proven 'taking' it easy is just as risky as going fast...

Personally, I'd be a bit concerned about my safety in the jag, even going slowly... it's at the end of the day a heavy car... if they're 4 up, REALLY heavy... some of the drops / rises etc at the ring really load and unload the suspension. The car will be a handful and be wanting to slide off track a fair bit.

Don't get me wrong, Willay, jr and co prove how much fun can be had in anything - for example Astra Diesel around the ring.

However, the Jag is a lot heavier, older and possibly more riskier on the track.

I can understand wanting to fix up and restore it but not to take it on the ring.

Its a classic race circuit, probably the most famous in the world. Some people go to say they have driven it, not to say I lapped it in under 9 mins...

Were they inspired by Hammond's touring car feature on TG to get that?
