nice before my time? you need to get a grip mate, I remember when you were very nice and use to get verbal from vibrio/steve daily.

and yeah you may not own a corsa anymore but you're still a valuable resource with good, proven information to give.

400bhp on a let is a totally different issue when the turbo comes into play
but your right about seeing 200bhp on an xe if you have the funds

hang on mr vxr.....the lads talking about an XE not an LET, bit of a differance atmo engine and a forced induction. swindon is a different league compared to most other people and would of spent thousands in developing it.

but realistically about 180bhp is peak imo!

I always thought you couldnt get that power without ditching the standard AFM, as over 180ish they seem to be unable to cope.

Swindon race engines can build a 200bhp XE on a standard inlet.. i belive someone mailed them about it.. it does involve some serious headwork, funky cams iirc and a heavily modified ecu...

However, off the shelf stuff as per the quote on the 1st page will struggle to make 180 bhp..

it was rolling roaded, and being a 20xe it was also de-cat. so many people overestimate what power there car pushes out

And an XE can make 200bhp without TB

an xe wont make much more than 180bhp on the stock inlet!

If a 1.6 8v nova engine can make 150bhp from a standard inlet i would say a c20xe could make 200bhp

Iain are you talking about gaz's 2 litre? Ant told me it was 200bhp, but then ant beat it so no way it is 200bhp, more like 160 or there abouts.

may make it but not on a realistic budget where you'd start looking towards carbs/tb's.

+ im sure the 8v inlet has alot shorter tract. the XE one was designed to help gain torque!

true, but for someone to want 200bhp using the stock inlet, then that would have something more to do with class rules or something then?!
