Those 2 are much better options for the money.

Or what about a Z4 M Coupe?

Being perfectly honest, both the 911's in the pics look tired and dated and the M3 is missing a roof.

As has been mentioned, for £20k I'd be looking elsewhere... Monaro VXR with a Vortex gets my vote!

But then again I don't suppose it matters what you get as it'll be for sale again in two weeks anyway.

i dont understand the appeal of non-turbo 911s.

M3 is a fantastic car, but why not get a slightly older one? Save some £££

As for having a 20yr old Audi Quattro as an everyday car

Those 911s look awful. Very very dated.

Way rather have an M3 Coupe in Silver Grey and still have change for some CSL wheels

For 20k my money would be on a Z4M coupe.

However I feel people are missing the point here a 996 doesn't look that dated its a great drivers car thats usabe very day and they sound great.

I'd g for something like this

http://search.autotrader.co.uk/es-uk/www/cars/PORSCHE+911/Ne-2-4-5-6-7-8-27-44-49-53-61-64-67-103-133-146-236,N-145-240-4294967042-4294967213/advert.action?R=200818309230487&distance=60&postcode=DA2+6JW&channel=CARS&make=PORSCHE&model=911&min_pr=&max_pr=&max_mileage=&vehicleYearOfManufacture=2001&vehicleRegLetter=51

Be easier to sell on as its a Tip

I can't believe you're getting slated for wanting to buy a porsche

I'd take one of those 911's any day of the week

Avoid a 20k 996.

Speaking from recent experience, the bills can be stupid.

Get a decent 987 'S'. As good to drive, newer and less likely to have you paying out for a five figure service.

The 987 is the rich man's 996

Oh, and AVOID a £15k Masser. Unless you have pockets deeper than the North Sea. A minor service will see you out of 10% of the car's value. And the 3200 is IMO not great.

i thought there was a credit crunch going on?

i couldn't face spending that amount of money on a car, there is a lot more better things you could buy imo.

Nismo - Yeah i have thought about a Nobel but 50 miles a day and regular round trips to Milton Keynes in one could be back and ball breaking

As for the Maserati's the running costs of these are near Ferrari prices; whereas Porsche's really arent to bad.

Did look at the Boxster & s before; but think i would still always wish i had got the full size one.

Yeah Chris thats where the silver one is; they have some rather nice motors down there.
