My car has a secondary turbo prespool so that when the charge release gate is opened to the Y-pipe there is a smooth transition from primary to secondary turbo operation on wide open throttle.

I also hav three throttle butterflies, but one is controlled by the ECU to remain shut until oil pressure and temperature is optimum, preventing damage to the engine from being run too cold.

Interesting stuff.
