Either way, I'm happy with the Astra it can only get better. Bit understeery out of Druids but can improve that with better lines and a different approach with the throttle.

I've watch it.

Theres plenty more performance there yet

Leave your braking later into paddock too, and leave it in 4th, use the high rpm to pull the engine speed back down. Too tight out of clearways, wheeyy to tight, loosing a good 5mph on the straight.

Sounds nice though.

i agree with clearways, but its difficult to point something out to ollie at 100mph

paddock IMO his line was almost 100%, the car is very stabel and gives the idea he may have be able to brake later, but it was allready sliding to the outside of paddock making any higher entry speed irrelevent as he would have to have washed of the speed halfway round anyway

No, if it did it would be a MASSIVE advantage.

I'm glad I'm not the only one thinking like this.

Although it wasn't a bad drive - fairly spirited, it was far from at the car's maximum potential. You hammer it down the straight, but then lift off and coasts way before you even start braking. Also the line through paddock bend is a bit tight too, once past the apex let the car go wider.

I must say the Astra VXR sounds fantastic though and seems to shift down the straights when the loud pedal is pushed.

The 'tussle' with the Clio 197 Cup Race car... no mate... There's no tussle there???

The clio goes past, gets held up by the cars infront and then once past them - disapears. Yeah in a straight line it's not got much on you (but why would it? you have more power).

Having said all that though, I'm glad you're out there enjoying it mate! At least you have the balls to take it on track and you're only going to get better the more times you go out in it!

I just need to buy another car / do some more to mine to try to make it more competitive with the VXR's shear grunt.

Holy Shit? - you'd done a 20 mins session ALREADY? before this vid ?

I was thinking that this video was your first session - hence you were taking it easy. Bloody hell, I'm disapointed in you Oliver if this was your 2nd session that day.

I'm just winding you up son....

When you have an 18k car that means quite a lot to you I should imagine you won't be driving at the same pace you do in that tin can of yours.
