It would be nice to see to Jeff at the top though. I know its my opinion only, but his version is the sort that really means something, makes the hair on your neck stick up. Just a piece of genius. The cover is for commercial gain and no other, it would be different if she had a song that was actually written for her.

Do you really think the version by Jeff has been released for anything other than commercial gain

I thinks its been re-released just to stop the X Factor version getting xmas no.1, was all started by an internet campaign.

Interestingly, Cowell works for the company who own the rights to the Buckley version
I'd find it amazing if the top 2 in the Christmas chart were the same song

Has it actually been re-released? Or are people just downloading it?

As much as I hate the xfactor, it's brilliant that the people who buy the original will be lining Cowell's pockets anyway

Lol, Leonard Cohen is signed to SonyBMG too.
It's win win, if all three are in the chart, SonyBMG make big bucks.

None of them have been re-released, it's just the volume of downloads which has got them back into the charts
Very sad imo that people are going to all the different downlaod sites and buying the song numerous times to help it up the charts
even more funny that cowell owns the rights to them all

I personally think that Alexandras version is very very good and that she is one of the most talented young singers to come from these shores for many years, so what if she came from X Factor, she has a undeniable natural talent and an amazing voice - I hope she gets to number one and don't give a rats about the original version of the song or the Jeff Buckley cover - times move on
