Or look at a vectra cdti. YOu can get 05 plates for like 4k. So what if they have done 80k. Motorway will be no problem. Should pound on for another 80

My mondeo isnt bad, its only the 115 with 5 gears so not the best for motorway but the 130 with 6 gears is more suited. Can pick them up for next to nothing now, as i've just found out trying to sell mine

Look at the popular cars taxi drivers have, mix of comfort, mpg, other costs to run, plus cheap to buy, so anything in the astra / vectra classes, wouldnt like to think of the backache you woudl get from driving round in a car like a bluemotion on the motorway

As Danny said... I used to do roughly 500 miles a week private hire taxi'ing in my Mondeo TDCi, have had a Vectra too and the Mondeo is much comfier, and a better drive, and better looking! Havent you got a 307 though? Probably similair mpg so...

Fiesta Zetec S 1.6 TDCi.
Nice looking, lovely seats, nice driving position, quite powerful, torque the same as the 2.0 ST, £35/tax on all models.
If you want a bigger car, the new shape Focus' with the 1.6TDCi are £35/tax also.
If they were cheaper, I'd say a 118d would be best. New ones are also £35 tax/year

I had the previous shape mondeo tdci130 and that would average 44mpg doing a fast enough speed with the A/C going, suprised the hell outta me at just how quiet and comfy it was on the motorway was literally a pleasure to be there

Any TDCi Fiesta or Focus will be stupidly cheap at those speeds.
A mate at work has just bought a new shape but non facelift, 1.6TDCi Titanium Focus, which has half leather, Sony factory stereo, loads of heated bits for about £7k iirc.
