Pubs will be fine, the surplus profits from their Scottish region will keep them afloat.

The problem for pubs has been going on long before the credit crunch, and thats the availability of very very cheap booze from super markets and off licenses.
You never know though, money problems may well push people out of their house for a drink or two, and you'll also probably find people cancelling their Sky package or not going the match and going down the pub to watch the footy.

Pubs imo
I was saying this the other day. pubs nowadays are dead, only pubs that will do well are the ones that serve food.
Weatherspoons is a good example, do good cheap food and reasonably priced ale. Not been out in a couple of months cos just got a new baby daughter, went out last sat and couldn't believe how dead Sheffield city centre was on a sat night..... I can see why though because the prices are fuckin ridiculous. Bought a pint and a taboo in the first pub and is cost me £7.20
To be fair the weather wasn't the best last saturday, but yeah i've definately noticed a drop in people out and about, I think bars and the like are relatively safe though, as people will still want to go out for a beer at the end of the week regardless of the financial crisis, I know I do!

I work for wetherspoons currently infact i'm there now. We're getting record food sales at the min, but on a whole the pub is a lot quieter than 2 year ago

I think PC World are ok, Currys will be next but once again do you know anyone that still uses them? If I want a cheap TV I go to Tescos, if I want a fridge freezer I'll go direct to the warehouse. If I want a PC I'll go to PC World. Shops like that have been living on borrowed time for ages.

They are both part of the same company though. I wasn't really paying much attention, just heard it saying they could be in for problems.

DSG own Currys, Dixons and PC World, so if one goes you'll probably see the others go too as they are too similar in what they sell for one to be effected and the other not.

No.
Looking at a few news articles, they seem to be fine. Cutting back on some large costs and have a £300m debt facility available to them so not going to go under.

I am 99% certain safe style will be next. Work in the window industry myself and there have been a few large companys go in the last 12 months or so. Off the top of my head there was St Helens glass, Speedframe and Zenith Staybright. There is a few more too but i cant think of them at the moment

I said SafeStyle because Plumb Centre and Build Centre have gone too.
BuildBase, B&Q etc should be okay though. Can't see debenhams having trouble.

Alot of cut backs in the steel trade, we spray the steel columns, gerders, beams and cladding which are produced by Gerdau, CSN and Usiminas, I'm clutching to the contracts with all my might tbh.
