The increase in duty is going to be offset with the reduction in VAT.

The tossers that are Darling and Brown would be stupid to raise fuel duty now, when they are desperatly failing to win the hearts of the nation back.

I recon that if they start on the up again, they'll be some political movement, especially when although there are millions of barrels of oil trapped in Samolia, oil is at it's lowest in 20 months.

Glad that the average person (<£150,000 earner) won't be paying back the losses made by the VAT cut, but fiver says that the duty on booze, fags and go juice won't go back down when VAT gets put back to 17.5% in 2010.

That tanker with all it's oil shouldn't really effect oil prices, there's only enough oil on there to power a average sized country for one day.

That is silly cheap, even if it's a Mondeo. Fully loaded, only 42k miles and manufacturer warranty remaining. Madness.
