It's more of an achievement NOT to spin up in a mildly tuned car But I suppose going from a 1.2 16v it would seem a really quick car! Just stick an XE in yours and destroy it laddie!

Very pliable, and great fun to drive. Throw the same amount of money you would spend on tuning 12 year old corsa and you'll be laughing.

i beg to differ and so do many owners of more expensive cars

mine spins up in 3rd at 70mph in the wet.

does it all the time in 1st and 2nd with ESP off but it's not cool as you're only wasting you're front tyres....

fiesta st's are good little car's. people who say they're slow usually have 1.2's etc

they are a good drive. it's not all about performance in a straight line

it's about the whole package.

a corsa b with an let engine in doesn't look at all ''sporty'', whereas a standard fiesta or focus st does IMO of course. maybe some people want the whole package

I do really like the idea of a Fiesta ST as a nice day to day motor, reliable decent build etc, dunno if it's worth it, it's not like you can do 100+ mph everywhere nowadays lol... Nice package I think

See on the other foot of my comment, I agree with you completely.

Fiesta's are great handling cars, mine with just 45mm springs I think handles better than my Corsa on Coilovers did. I've had a few comments on how well it handles just on springs.

Can't comment on the tuning as I don't know enough about them, I know they are juicy motors though, even when driving nicely!

spinning the front wheels is not a good thing. As soon as you start getting wheel spin the power is going no where (and as a result, so is the car) ... plus wheel spin mid bend in FWD = Understeer... not good.

LSD ftw

Also... 200 bhp is achievable yes... but it's quite a heavy car, so it's all relative.

For example a 150 bhp corsa is faster than a 150 bhp fietsa st.

(I'd prefer the fiesta to a corsa) but just saying, 200 bhp in a fiesta st won't be mind blowingly quick.
